I was just talking to a friend of mine (who is not in anyway made up just to impress people with the fact that i have friends)
Apparently he got stopped at an MRT station. He was carrying a rather large bag filled with ____(1)____.
The nervous nellys in security thought he was a terrorist of some sort. To tell you the truth. It wasn't because of the bag. Another guy carrying the same bag got through without problems. It was because he looks Arab.
It is understandable that people are getting more and more jittery about security since 9-11. But do we really have to resort to this?
Can a man's skin colour or any such unchangable trait end up being used as a meter to gauge how safe he can be? It's not his fault that he looks like a Pakistani.
On a lighter note, here's a rather hilarious clip about security.
Note:
(1) I did say he was a Pakistani, it's a cricket bat in a bag. The imagination of some people...
(2) Jon Stewart is so cool. Jon Stewart for President!!!
(3) I like footnotes
